The date was 1936. In the village of Corpeau, American importer Frank Schoonmaker was tasting at the annual fair. At the next table was none other than Pierre Ramonet, and when Schoonmaker tasted his Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Ruchottes, history was made.
