Having tasted over 1,500 new and upcoming Sonoma County wine releases since January, I’m excited. Granted, I was very fortunate to have taken over coverage of Sonoma as the 2014s and 2015s were being bottled and released—two spectacular vintages. And there is an incredible array of diverse soils, topography and meso/microclimates, even for such a large area—all features that automatically open the door to a lot of grape varieties and styles.
