For such a small and young wine-producing nation, the levels – not just the rates – of New Zealand wine-market growth and stylistic developments within such a short space of time (call it 30 years) are remarkable. It is even more remarkable when one considers that this growth and these developments are based mainly around one formerly rather insignificant grape variety: Sauvignon Blanc.
